What does 'community' mean to you:
“My community is made up of women I can safely share my joys, celebrations, sorrows, concerns, ventings, and various life questions with. They listen without judgement, they may gently hold me accountable, they forgive me for my mistakes and are always have my back and my heart. “
What words of advice do you have for women seeking out deeper community and connection:
“Be open and non judgmental.
Be willing to seek the connection even when it might not feel comfortable.
You just never know where an “acquaintance “ or a conversation will lead.”
What are your thoughts when it comes to personal growth:
“I feel very lucky to have had many different women come into my life that brought very different thoughts, opportunities, and knowledge. My mind was opened to alternative ideas that a small town girl from northern NY might never have heard of. I was given and created the gift of not only being comfortable with myself but loving myself.”
If you could give your younger self one piece of advice what would it be:
“Don’t be afraid, embrace being different.
Never stop learning, exploring or discovering life. “
What do you love about being a woman:
“My community of women is made up of many very different groups and ages. I used to criticize myself for being like a chameleon, blending in with each group. I've learned that all these groups were parts of me and I didn’t need to chose one. It’s what made me whole and approachable by others. I love being included in tribes of young women, elders and peers.
I believe my willingness to embrace and explore new ideas was passed on to my amazing daughter which gives me the greatest joy.”
